Winter Alliance.
25 teams turned up to play in the 2nd winter alliance of the year at Lough Owel on Sunday. After a few weeks of bad weather the course stood up well and a lot of credit has to go to David Corcoran and the Lough Owel members for having the course in great condition for the day. Scoring on the day was fantastic with the gross prize been won by the local team of G. Keenan, G. Coyne and D. Baker. On the tough course they returned an excellent score of 29 under par gross. The net winners on the day were the Collinstown team of S. Tarleton, M. Foran and M. Scally. Good team work over putts saw them win with a net score of 67 2/3. Spot prizes were won by Darran Whelan Kilbeggan and William Prendergast Custume. Westmeath County Board would like to thank everyone who supported the alliance and the Lough Owel club for having a course in great shape on the day. The next alliance is due to take place on the 17th February at Kilbeggan.
