Provincial Inter Counties Weekend

Looking ahead to the Inter Counties championship team events this weekend, all roads lead to Oldcastle and Collinstown for the Leinster Championships and Tralee for the Munster Championships.

In a change of format for the Leinster Ladies, this year they will play by the stableford scoring system which has been played by Ladies in Munster for the past couple of years. In addition to this it is great to see an increase of 2 more Counties taking part in this year’s Leinster Ladies Championships, Down and Westmeath. Munster sees a very welcome return to the Intercounty stage of the Kerry  Ladies team.

No less than 11 counties will compete in Leinster this weekend. The intermediate gents of Galway, Meath and Kildare will kick off proceedings in Collinstown with the Ladies of Westmeath and Kildare in Oldcastle at 9.00 am on Saturday.  Sunday sees the Dublin, Down and Carlow Junior gents begin the days play at 8.30 am in Oldcastle.  While the Senior Gents at 10.10 am begin with Kildare, Wexford and Offaly.

In Munster the Junior Gents of Tipperary, Cork and Limerick will get the games started at 9.00 am in Tralee and the first of the Ladies from Tipperary and Cork will take to the tee at 10.00 am for their scotch foursomes.  Sundays play in Tralee at 9.00 am begins with the Intermediate gents of Limerick and Waterford.  Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford Senior Gents will commence at 10.10 am

6 Counties will line out over this weekend in Munster to compete for the Provincial Inter County championships.

All in all it is shaping up to be quite a weekend of Pitch and putt in both Provinces.

The very best of luck to all competitors.  Safe traveling as you all make your way to the respective venues.

Live score sheets will be available on our main page on the website over the weekend.
