2026 hero Sean Crowe was the sole survivor from Riverdale’s 2024 runner-up side. Joseph Danagher utilized all his know-how, built-up during provincial and national Inter-County success in the blue and gold while 2025 National Over-55s intermediate Strokeplay champion Patsy Farrell’s experience was invaluable.
Gary O’Neill went through the weekend undefeated in Matchplay at Lucan while 2024 Majestic Junior Scratch Cup winner Brendan Shinnors and Eamonn Ryan delivered vital singles wins when the chips were down in the final.
Bruff finished as runners-up in the National Inter-Club for the third time.
Aidan O’Sullivan now holds two silver medals in addition to his 2025 victory. Peadar McCarthy and Kieran Earls earned a 2026 silver medal apiece having also shared in Bruff’s 2025 win.
It’s been a great year for relative newcomer Johnny Bluett, this latest milestone arriving quickly on the back of his Limerick Junior Masters victory in August. Young Charlie Taylor is no stranger to team event success, having starred for Tipperary Juveniles in the provincial Inter-County championships and represented Munster in the Inter-Provincial Challenge. Dominic Kavanagh used all his previous experience from a Munster Junior Matchplay win and a National Over-55s Intermediate grade Strokeplay championship silver medal.
6-3 has been the winning margin in six National Inter-Club tournament finals. Bruff have been involved in four of those (6-3 v. Cunnigar in 2025 and 3-6 v. St. Patrick’s in 2015, 3-6 v. Fermoy three years ago and 3-6 again v. Riverdale).
