Mac Bride weekly notes
THE penultimate week of the MacBride Winter League took place this week and yet again the powers provided glorious conditions over the weekend.
Finally wining in the top grade after three back 9 defeats, Peter Vogelaar took the spoils with a 43N (HC3) to beat teammate Owen Smith by one stroke as the scratch man carded an effortless 44.
In the second grade, an outstanding 42N (HC11) was produced by the returning Marco Vogelaar to pip the in form Jimmy Flood by a single shot.
Times of play remain the same for next week. All membership fees are due from 1st March and can be paid weekly at the desk.
All is still to play for on the final week with three teams still in contention with four scores counted: 1st O. Smith, J. Flood and P. Vogelaar -83; 2nd - D. O’Brien, K.Smyth and J.Reilly -79; B.Thornton, P.Kelly and J. Hanratty –74.
