The Rochfortbridge Pitch and Putt Club Captains Prize 2026 took place on Saturday morning, 7th March, and was a resounding success blessed with a great turnout and a competitive spirit throughout the field.
Club Captain Mick Mangan welcomed a fantastic total of 31 players to the course, comprising 17 members and 14 visitors from neighbouring clubs. The course was in magnificent condition, a testament to the hard work put in over the preceding week.
Members' Prizes
The battle for the prestigious Members' Prize was a thrilling affair, with Mark Kelly emerging as the victor. Mark secured the top spot with a fantastic 18N 18G score of 95, narrowly edging out the competition. The runner-up position was claimed by Charlie McHugh, who carded an 18N 18G score of 96. Andrew Coyne took the prize for Best 18 Nett with a score of 41, while Gerry Coyne won the Best 18 Gross category with an impressive score of 48.
Visitors' Prizes
The visiting players put on a superb display. The Visitors' Prize was won by John Donnelly, who recorded an 18N 18G score of 97. He was followed closely by Sean Dinnegan in second place with a score of 99. The third-place prize went to Stephen Ruane, who finished with a score of 100.
Hole-in-One Magic
The day was highlighted with not one but two hole-in-ones recorded on the 12th hole. Congratulations go to Gerry Coyne and the eventual members' winner, Mark Kelly, for this perfect shot.
