A light breeze and sunny conditions greeted the competitors as they arrived for the first section of the 2012 National Mixed Foursomes being held at Seapoint today. A total of 31 pairings teed off in a shotgun start at 10.00am. Pairings like Ann Ward & Pat Greene of Seapoint, Kathleen Geraghty (Skryne) & Ian Farrelly (Bellewestown), Margaret Hogan & Darren O’Connell (Tullamore) should score well, but there are many pairings out there who have the ability to click on the day. That being said Seapoint can exact a harsh toll on wayward pitches while the superb condition greens will require a delicate touch to master the subtle breaks.
